TBR is pillar of citrus-flavored quirkitude. When she isn't busy haunting the local Borders, she can be glimpsed in garb at renfests and/or SCAdian functions. Her mind is logic-optional and non-linear in extremis: the most profound philosophical musings can be interrup-OOH Look! Shiny thing...
Strengths: TBR has an encyclopedic knowledge of pointless topics (usually related to sci-fi). She is also prone to being psychic about equally pointless things.
Weaknesses: This psychic ability has not yet helped TBR to her find her keys on the first try. Other weaknesses include going off on wild tangents, and the grating sound of Bill O'Reilly's voice, which produces a kryptonitic effect.
Special Skills: TBR has the ability to get lost. Anywhere. She aims to one day make it into the Guiness Book of World Records as the "Most Confused Traveler".
Weapons: Nerd Fu, pointy boots, and other sundry parlor tricks.
Free-Floating Latin: Noli simul flare sorbereque. (Don't whistle and drink at the same time.)

Hey there, Rook here. (Matilda to SCAdians and Rennies/Amanda to the modern world.) So, why am I 'The Booted Rook'?

1. I'm fascinated by genus corvus, which includes crows, ravens, magpies, and rooks (an older, European cousin to the American crow). They are adaptive and problem-solving, with long memories and an intelligence comparable to that of apes.

2. Rooks are my favorite piece on a chessboard. Humble, yet versatile.

3. I love the absurdist painting "Krahe" by Rudi Hurzlmeier; which features a crow walking through a field...wearing boots.
